Using the sites features

As a group we have discussed what the four main features of the site are and how we can use them in our piece. For example we noticed the scratches on the bottom of the walls, my initial thoughts were that it looked like someone had been dragged along the floor and we discussed how we could have a physical moment where i am dragged along the floor, scrapping the walls and using the sound of that as a moment.

We also looked at the strange windows that were on the walls, we then tested out what sounds that it made when hit or scraped. When we banged the window we all said it was like someone was trying to escape and reminded us of potential sounds that could be heard when the victims were in Fred and Rose west's house.

Then we looked at the doors, we felt like these could be a metaphor for hidden away memories in Fred and Rose west's mind. I know from research that the couple both experienced a dark and dis-functional childhood, Rose was sexually abused by her Dad and later on in life was a regular costumer for her sexual services. These were the memories that we feel Fred and Rose west hid away, their troubled experiences were clearly never dealt with but buried that then lead to their reason for their disillusional and sadistic behaviour. Family pictures and research/article information could be placed on the doors so the audience can read and interact with the story.
