How many people can you fit between the walls?
Face to face only 2 people could fit, we decided that in our performance we would need to spread ourselves really equally across the space so the audience were able to move freely through the journey.
How can we use our bodies in a way that best fits the space?
We climbed the walls, worked with each lifting, pushing, supporting and ran in the space to see how we could use the curves of the walls, the gaps and the ceiling so that we could fill the space with movement and creativity. Letting each other be free to move in the space and explore really helped me to understand the space better, as a small space thats narrow and claustrophobic i thought that we would be limited in what we could do but i once i started to explore and move more i realised we have a lot more space to work with and the close walls actually can benefit us in moving.
How can we create a piece that represents the look and feel of the space?
My entail reaction to the space was scared and it felt really intense because it was small and the heat and noise from the air vents created a weird almost psychopathic atmosphere. We discussed how we could use that feeling in our performance and we talked about murders and psychopaths. We then looked at the walls, because that were curved and you never see straight ahead of you or when the corridor was going to end, i was reminded of a brain and the shape of a neurone and this then connected our ideas.
