Using the architecture

Brit Door
Prison Door
Today we focused on looking at the hidden parts of our space like the marks on the walls. the curves off the ceiling, the lighting etc.. One of the things we noticed was some scratches on the bottom of the wall- i suggested that it looked like someone had scratched along the wall as if they were struggling. we then discussed how we could use the sense of struggle and a jagged scratchy physicality as the neurons in the brain, we then tested this by moving physically in the space, this worked well and created both a eerie atmosphere and and what we imagined a brain would look like
inside.
We also looked at the entrance to the space and how that initially makes you feel. I said it made me feel scared as

it looked very similar to a prison door, i felt i would be locked away

We then talked about how we could make better use of the space, by using the ceiling and the floor to create movement for example Josh and Tyler lifted each other and pushed themselves up towards the ceiling. Me, Romy and Alice then used the floor - curving our bodies around the walls to blend in with the architecture.
